How to Use FluentCRM’s Abandoned Cart

March 1, 2025
Fluent CRM how to

FluentCRM is a powerful email marketing automation plugin for WordPress that integrates seamlessly with WooCommerce. One of its key features is Abandoned Cart Recovery, which helps you reclaim lost sales by automatically reaching out to customers who left items in their carts. Here’s how to set it up and use it effectively.

1. Enable Abandoned Cart Tracking

To start, you need to activate the abandoned cart tracking feature:

  • Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  • Click on FluentCRM, then navigate to Settings.
  • Select Abandoned Cart Settings.
  • Check the box labeled Enable Abandoned Cart Tracking for WooCommerce.
  • Click Save Settings.

Once activated, you’ll see a new Abandoned Carts section in FluentCRM, where you can track and manage abandoned carts.

2. Configure Abandoned Cart Settings

After enabling the feature, configure these important settings:

  • Cart Abandoned Cut-off Time: Define when a cart is considered abandoned (e.g., after 30 minutes of inactivity).
  • Mark as Lost After: Set how long a cart remains in the system before being marked as lost.
  • Cool-off Period: Specify a time frame after a purchase during which customers won’t receive abandoned cart emails.
  • Status for New Contacts: Choose the default status for new contacts added through abandoned cart tracking (e.g., “Transactional” or “Subscribed”).
  • GDPR Consent: Enable this option to comply with data protection laws and inform customers that their cart data is saved for reminders.

Once configured, click Save Settings.

3. Set Up an Abandoned Cart Automation

Now, create an automation workflow to send reminder emails:

  • Open the Automation section in FluentCRM.
  • Click Create New Automation and name it (e.g., “Abandoned Cart Recovery”).
  • Select Cart Abandoned as the trigger under WooCommerce Triggers.
  • Add actions such as:
    • Sending email reminders.
    • Adding wait times between emails.
    • Setting conditions (e.g., only send emails if the cart value is above a certain amount).
  • Save and activate the automation.

This automation will now send follow-up emails when a customer abandons their cart, encouraging them to complete their purchase.

4. Track Abandoned Cart Reports

FluentCRM provides detailed reports to track abandoned cart activity and recovery success:

  • Navigate to the Abandoned Carts section.
  • Use the Date Filter to analyze trends over specific periods.
  • View customer details, including cart contents and order status.
  • Click View Cart next to an entry for more details, including a Recovery URL to manually send to customers.

Regularly reviewing these reports helps improve your recovery strategies.

5. Use Pre-Built Automation Templates

If you want a quicker setup, FluentCRM offers pre-built automation templates:

  • Go to Automation and click Create New Automation.
  • Choose an Abandoned Cart Recovery template.
  • Customize it by adjusting email timing, content, and conditions.

This provides a fast way to implement a proven recovery workflow.

Final Thoughts

By following these steps, you can recover lost sales and boost revenue using FluentCRM’s abandoned cart feature. With automation, reports, and easy customization, it’s a powerful tool for any WooCommerce store.
